Scott plans Chippendales movie
Tony Scott will direct a movie depicting the life of Chippendales founder Steve Banerjee.
The as-yet untitled project will be penned by Lisa Schrager, and follows Banerjee as he rises from a gas pumper in Culver City to the owner of the strip club that evolved into the all-male dance troupe Chippendales.
Banerjee’s wealth led to extreme paranoia, prompting him to hire a hitman to murder a choreographer. Banerjee was found hanged in his prison cell in 1994 hours before he was to be sentenced.
Scott is currently preparing action film Unstoppable.
