The laughs (and screams) are coming back in a double dose with Joker: Folie à Deux, hitting Irish cinemas this October. Joaquin Phoenix returns as the enigmatic Arthur Fleck, but this time around, he won’t be dancing alone. Joining him is the legendary Lady Gaga as Harley Quinn, bringing her own brand of flamboyant chaos to the party.
This sequel throws out the rulebook. Gone are the gritty streets, replaced with…well, maybe not sunshine and rainbows, but definitely more glitter. Director Todd Phillips has hinted at a musical twist, with rumors swirling about show tunes, tap dancing, and camp spectacle.
The title, “Folie à Deux,” translates to “shared madness,” and with Harley Quinn in the mix, things are bound to get interesting. Will their madness be a match made in villainous heaven? Will they serenade the ever-stoic Batman with a duet? In the new trailer all signs say yes, and it looks like a beautiful spectacle. Joker: Folie à Deux promises to be a wild ride, filled with dark humor, catchy tunes, and enough chaos to make even the most uptight citizen crack a smile (or maybe a scream).
