Will Tom Waits be the voice of Smaug???
Tom Waits is rumoured to be starring in the upcoming film adaptation of The Hobbit.
According to reporters the singer-songwriter may be playing the voice of Smaug – the dragon Bilbo Baggins faces off with at the climax of the classic tale.
Other potential roles for Waits include Beorn, a dwarf who turns into a bear or Thorin Oakenshield, the dwarf leader.
Waits was last seen in Terry Gilliam’s The Imaginarium Of Dr Parnassus as the Devil and is co-starring with Denzel Washington in The Book Of Eli.
