I Am Love (lo Sono L’Amore) to close next years festival
The Jameson Dublin International Film Festival made it’s first program annoouncement today, director Luca Guadagnino’s beautiful film ‘I Am Love (lo Sono L’Amore)’ will close the festival on Feb 28th 2010.
Actress Tilda Swinton and director Luca Guadagnino will attend the screening. The festival takes place from 18th – 28th February 2010, however the full line up of guests and screenings will remain a closely guarded secret until the programme launch in January 2010. The last two festivals alone have seen a stellar line up of guests, including Colin Farrell, Liam Neeson, Daniel Day Lewis, U2, Charlize Theron, Stuart Townsend, Colin Firth and Marianne Faithfull.
Speaking of today’s announcement festival director Grainne Humphreys said “While the finishing touches are being applied to the programme for next year’s Jameson Dublin International Film Festival, I wanted to lift the red curtain and reveal that our Closing Night Gala is something exceptional. Recalling Visconti’s The Leopard, Luca Guadagnino’s superb I AM LOVE (Io Sono L’Amore) charts the fractures and fissures as wealthy a Milanese family comes to terms with a changing world. With a compelling central performance by Tilda Swinton (in fluent Italian), a supporting cast led by the wonderfully aristocratic Marisa Berensen, luminous photography and an exquisite score of John Adams’ music, director Guadagnino has succeeded in producing one of the best films of recent memory”.
