Derrickson and Cargill visit ‘The Outer Limits’
Filmmaker Scott Derrickson, who recently closed a deal to take the helm of Marvel’s ‘Doctor Strange,’ is set to tackle the script for a big screen outing of classic sci-fi and horror anthology series ‘The Outer Limits’ for MGM.
According to THR, Derrickson will reunite with his ‘Sinister’ co-writer C. Robert Cargill on the project, using the episode “Demon With a Glass Hand” as the focus of the feature.
Directed by Byron Haskin and penned by Harlan Ellison, the episode focused on “a man with no memory beyond the last ten days of his life and a computerized hand who discovers he is from the future. The man is being hunted by an alien race who see him as key to their survival, but he soon discovers a more complex and terrifying truth.”
MGM’s Jonathan Glickman and executive vice president of production Adam Rosenberg will oversee development.
Derrickson’s latest offering, the Eric Bana and Edgar Ramirez-led supernatural thriller ‘Deliver Us From Evil,’ opens in Irish cinemas August 22nd.
