Shaun the Sheep heads for the big screen…
Aardman Animations is reportedly developing a new feature flick around the character Shaun the Sheep.
The character – who first appeared in 1995’s A Close Shave – currently features in his own BBC children’s television series.
Now, BBC News has reported that the writers are working on a script and are hoping to complete the film by 2013 or 2014.
Aardman’s creative director Richard Goleszowski explained his plans for the film:
“My goal is to make a modern-day silent movie starring Shaun. When we started writing the television series we stuck a picture of Buster Keaton on the studio door.
“I grew up watching slapstick films and some of the jokes have become embedded in my psyche.”
