Saoirse to team up with Atonment director once more on a tale about a teenage assassin
Irish actress Saoirse Ronan is in talks to work with ‘Atonement’ director Joe Wright for a second time in ‘Hannah’, a movie about a teenage assassin. The press release compares the script to ‘La Femme Nikita’ and the ‘Bourne’ movies. Though comparisons are already being made to Hit-Girl, from the upcoming action movie ‘Kick-Ass’.
The story follows a 14-year-old Eastern European girl (Ronan) who has been raised by her father to be a cold-blooded killing machine. She connects with a French family, forms a friendship with their daughter and goes through the pangs of adolescence. When the girl is dragged back to her father’s world and discovers that she was bred as a killing machine in a CIA prison camp, she must fight her way to a free life.
Joe Wright most recently had his latest film ‘Indian Summer’ cancelled by studio bosses over high costs.
Saoirse Ronin is currently finishing work on Peter Weir’s new film ‘The Way Back’.
She can be seen next month in Peter Jackson’s new movie ‘The Lovely Bones’, which opens in Ireland on Feb 19th 2010.
