The Irish/UK trailer for the French thriller ‘Point Blank.’ Everything is going well for Samuel and his pregnant wife, Nadia. But everything changes when Nadia is kidnapped right in front of Samuel, who is knocked out cold, trying to stop the kidnapper. When he comes to, his phone is ringing; he has just three hours to get Startet, a man who is under police surveillance, out of the hospital where Samuel is studying to become a registered nurse.
Heat Vision reports that Evan Spiliotopoulo (‘Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure’) has been tapped to pen the script of the McG-directed adaptation of the board game ‘Ouija.’ Little is known about the plot details although the movie is described as a four-quadrant supernatural adventure centering around a family, with influences from ‘The Mummy’ and ‘Indiana Jones.’ ‘Tron: Legacy’ writers Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz previously worked on the script but are now focused on the fantasy pilot ‘Once Upon a Time.’
A very short teaser trailer for ‘Bellflower’ has been unleashed on the internet; Evan Glodell serves as star, writer, director, producer, and editor on the production. The story centers on two friends who spend their free time “building flame-throwers and weapons of mass destruction in hopes that a global apocalypse will occur and clear the runway for their imaginary gang ‘Mother Medusa.’”
The first trailer for ‘The Help,’ starring Emma Stone, Viola Davis, Ocatvia Spencer, Bryce Dallas Howard, Chris Lowell, Anna Camp, Ahna O Reilly, and Allison Janney. Based on the bestselling book by Kathryn Stockett. “Set in Mississippi during the civil rights movement of the early 1960s, The Help tells the story of three women: recent college graduate Skeeter, wise black maid Aibileen, and Aibileen’s sassy best friend Minny. The threesome “come together for a clandestine project that will put them all at risk.”
Chris Klein has signed on to reprise his role of Chris “Oz” Ostreicher for ‘American Reunion.’ The actor joins his ‘American Pie’ co-stars Jason Biggs, Seann William Scott and Alyson Hannigan, along with franchise veteran Eugene Levy.
The Dan Mirvish-directed adaptation of Joe Hortua’s off-Broadway play ‘Between Us’ has attached Julia Stiles, Taye Diggs, Melissa George and David Harbour to star. ‘Between Us’ centers on two couples who were friends in school and whose periodic meetings conjure up rivalries and bitterness over unrealized ambitions that get waylaid by money and children. The movie will shoot in May with a script penned by Hortua and Mirvish.
Michael Pena (‘Crash,’ ‘Observe and Report’) is in talks to join Jake Gyllenhaal in the police drama ‘End of Watch’ from director David Ayer (‘Street Kings,’ ‘Harsh Times’). The gritty cop drama chronicles the friendship between two long-time partners. In addition to writing and directing duties, Ayer is will also produce the project.

“You have begun to wear pajamas every day.” The trailer for Azazel Jacobs’s ‘Terri’ has arrived. John C. Reilly and newcomer Jacob Wysocki star in the indie dramedy which centers on a large 15-year-old boy in a small town as he struggles to adjust to his difficult life.
James Franco and Winona Ryder are set to star in ‘The Stare,’ a drama directed by Jay Anania, who worked with Franco on ‘Shadows & Lies.’ ‘The Stare’ focuses on a playwright who finds her mind beginning to warp as she struggles to launch her next production. She’s plagued by dreams and visions of being watched, but can’t decide if she’s at the center of a manipulative plot or simply losing her grip on reality. Franco plays one of the performers in the playwright’s production. The film will shoot May 6 in New York.
It was inevitable and now it is confirmed… ‘Fast Five’ screenwriter Chris Morgan (‘Wanted’) has signed a two-year first-look deal with Universal Pictures, and the first project the screenwriter is working on is none other than ‘Fast Six.’ Morgan has penned every entry in the franchise since the third movie, ‘The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift.’ No details have been revealed for ‘Fast Six’ but a post credits scene in ‘Fast Five’ hints that the sixth may be shot in Berlin. Director Justin Lin has hinted that Australia is potentially another location.

Patrick Warburton (‘Family Guy,’ ‘The Tick’) has joined the cast of Seth McFarlene’s ‘Ted.’ The comedy stars Mark Wahlberg as John, a man who wishes his beloved toy bear from childhood to life and then uses the talking slacker toy to get in the way of committing to his long-suffering girlfriend. Warburton will be play the “sexually confused co-worker” of John, at their place of business, Enterprise Car Rentals. Mila Kunis, Giovanni Ribisi, Joel McHale and Jessica Stroup co-star, with MacFarlane portraying the walking, talking teddy bear.
Emun Elliott (‘Black Death’) and Benedict Wong (‘Moon’) have joined the cast of Ridley Scott’s ‘Prometheus.’
Zach Braff is set to join Chloe Moretz and Jessica Biel in the indie project, ‘The Devil and the Deep Blue Sea.’ Unable to reconcile the grief from recently losing his wife, an introverted architect befriends a wisecracking young girl and agrees to help her build a raft to cross the Atlantic.
20 yrs old actor Thomas Mann (‘It’s Kind of a Funny Story’) is in talks for Josh Schwartz’s teen comedy ‘Fun Size.’ Victoria Justice is already attached to the Halloween movie. Mann will play Roosevelt, the star of his school’s debate team who is in love with Justice’s character, Wren. The son of two gay women, he’s terrified of breaking the rules, but decides to throw caution to the wind and help Wren out when she needs him to help find her younger brother on Halloween.
Jake M. Johnson (‘No Strings Attached,’ ‘Get Him to the Greek’) has joined action comedy film adaptation of ‘21 Jump Street.’
‘Tron: Legacy‘ co-writers Brian Klugman and Lee Sternthal have been tapped to work on an adaptation ‘Rex Mundi.’ Created by Arvid Nelson and Eric Johnson, ‘Rex Mundi‘ is set in an alternate Europe in 1933, a pathologist investigates the mysterious death of the priest who found him as an orphan, a trail that ultimately leads to a quest for the Holy Grail. The series was first published by Image Comics from 2003-06 before moving to Dark Horse, where it concluded in 2009.
Varierty reports that John Krasinski, Olivia Thirlby and Rosemarie DeWitt are in talks to star in the indie drama ‘Nobody Walks.’ Told over the course of one week, story follows a Los Angeles family who invite a young, charismatic artist into their home, only to find her disrupting their lives. Ry Russo-Young (‘You Won’t Miss Me’) is directing from a script she co-wrote with indie darling Lena Dunham (‘Tiny Furniture’).
Joshua Jackson is in talks to join Rebecca Hall and Bruce Willis in ‘Lay the Favorite.’ The movie is based off the life of Beth Raymer, a professional gambler who started off as a cocktail waitress in Las Vegas but soon rose to become one of the world’s best gamblers. After falling in love, Raymer soon begins to re-evaluate her life and the profession she has chosen.
‘Murderball‘ director Henry-Alex Rubin will direct ‘Disconnect‘ for his first narrative feature, says ThePlaylist. Written by Andrew Stern (‘Return To Me’) the film will chronicle “the linked stories of a group of contemporary characters searching for human connection in a wired world.” ‘Disconnected’ is gearing up to start this fall.
Susan Sarandon, David Arquette and Adam Brody are in talks to star in the dramedy ‘Hemlock Drive.’ The movie, Rosanna Arquette’s next directorial effort, is about an eccentric mother in Connecticut who learns she is dying and brings her three adult children back home for a weekend.
“She tries to bond the family before she dies, and she makes them throw her a living funeral,” the movie’s producer, Kristin Holt, told TheWrap Wednesday. “It’s a very funny dramedy.”
