British filmmaker lines up his next feature.
Nicolas Roeg (‘Puffball,’ ‘The Witches,’ ‘Castaway,’ ‘The Man Who Fell to Earth,’ ‘Don’t Look Now’) is teaming with Montreal-based Amérique Films to develop the WWI romantic drama ‘At Sunset.’
Scripted by Dan Weldon (‘Puffball’), the story centres on the torrid affair between a young, British Army sniper and a late 40s, wealthy, French landowner behind enemy lines.
The screenplay, formerly titled ‘The Sniper,’ was penned by Dan Weldon (‘Puffball’). Producers Martin Paul-Hus tells Screen Daily that they have their eyes on one of “France’s top female actresses” for the lead.
