Replacing Zac Efron as lead…
‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’ and ‘Warm Bodies’ star Nicholas Hoult has joined the cast of the car-chase thriller ‘Autobahn,’ replacing Zac Efron as the male opposite Amber Heard (‘Three Days To Kill,’ ‘Paranoia’).
The thriller centres on a smart, careless young backpacker (Hoult) who is hired as a pickup driver for a gang of German drug smugglers. After an attempt at steal a load from a drug tycoon fails, he finds himself thrown into a 24-hour turbo-charged chase on the Bavarian freeways to save the life of his girlfriend (Heard).
Production is gearing up for a March start with Eran Creevy (‘Welcome to the Punch’) behind the camera helming from a script he co-wrote with F. Scott Frazier (‘The Numbers Station’).
