Evans to portray the legendary vampire.
Heat Vision has learned that Luke Evans (‘The Raven,’ ‘Immortals,’ ‘Clash of the Titans’) has closed a deal to lead Universal’s big budget dramatic horror ‘Dracula Year Zero.’
With Irish director Gary Shore (‘The Cup of Tears,’ ‘The Draft’) in the director’s chair making his feature debut, the story tells of “a young prince who, when the lives of his wife and child are put in danger by a bloodthirsty sultan, risks his soul to save them, and in the process becomes the first vampire.”
The screenplay was penned by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless. Alissa Phillips is executive producing.
Evans will next be seen playing the big bad in ‘Fast & Furious 6’ when it opens in Irish cinemas May 23rd. The Welsh actor will follow the adrenaline-fuelled sequel with Peter Jackson’s ‘The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug,’ in which he plays Bard the Bowman.
