Will helm the Claire Messud adaptation…
Actress Lake Bell, who made her directorial debut with last year’s ‘In A World,’ has scored her second directing effort, landing the director’s chair for an adaptation of the 2006 Claire Messud novel ‘The Emperor’s Children.’
Set in the months leading up to and following the September 11 attacks, the story centres follows the intersections in the lives of three friends, now on the cusp of their thirties, making their way–and not– in New York City.
Noah Baumbach (‘The Squid and the Whale’), who was at one point set to direct, is writing the script. Producers include Brian Grazer and Erica Huggins of Imagine Entertainment.
