Buddy comedy pairs Hart and Gad.
Screenwriter Jeremy Garelick (‘The Hangover,’ ‘The Break-Up’) is stepping behind the camera to direct Kevin Hart (‘Think Like A Man’) and ‘The Book Of Mormon’ star Josh Gad in an untitled comedy.
Based on a script by Garelick and Jay Lavender, the comedy sees Hart playing Jimmy, a charismatic guy who provides best man services for guys, who can’t get anyone to stand by them on their wedding days. Gad will be taking the role of Doug, a socially awkward groom-to-be who finds himself in such a situation, but, to make matters worse, he fabricates the names of not only a best man but nine groomsmen as well. When all else fails, Doug seeks out Jimmy’s services to carry out a charade designed to make Doug look his best, but threatens to destroy everything if it fails.
The untitled film will be a collaboration between Miramax and Screen Gems, with Miramax’s Adam Fields and Will Packer producing, and Clint Culpepper overseeing on behalf of Screen Gems.
