Josh Brolin May Be Joining Ryan Gosling and Sean Penn for period crime drama
Deadline reports that Josh Brolin is in negotiations to star in ‘Gangster Squad.’ The drama, scripted by Will Beall (‘Castle’) and set to be helmed by Ruben Fleischer (’30 Minutes or Less,’ ‘Zombieland’), chronicles the LAPD’s fight to keep East Coast Mafia types out of Los Angeles in the 1940s and 50s.
As previously reported, Ryan Gosling and Sean Penn are also in talks to join the movie. Gosling and Brolin would play two cops leading a squad of elite officers assigned to bring down Los Angeles mobster Mickey Cohen, set to be played by Penn.
The period crime drama is based off a series of LA Times articles by Paul Lieberman.
