Pesci signs on to join Travolta in Gotti biopic, Lohan in talks to join.
Formerly retired actor Joe Pesci (‘Goodfellas’) has joined the cast of Nick Cassavetes’ ‘Gotti: Three Generations.’ The actor joins John Travolta, who will be playing John Gotti Sr. Deadline reports that Pesci has signed on to play Angelo Ruggiero, John Gotti Sr.’s deputy.
In a written statement, Pesci said, “I’m really happy to be making this picture with my good friend Nick Cassavetes. It’s going to be a great experience and a rare opportunity to look inside the life of Gotti.”
Producer Marc Fiore revealed that Lindsay Lohan is currently “in talks” to play the mob boss’s daughter Victoria Gotti, but stressed nothing is finalized.
Nick Cassavetes (‘Alpha Dog,’ ‘The Notebook’) will direct the biopic from a screenplay by actor-writer Leo Rossi (‘Analyze This’). The movie will focus on the relationship between John Gotti Sr., the head of the Gambino crime family who died in prison in 2002, and his son John Gotti Jr., who took over the family business for his father, served time in prison, but then successfully escaped conviction in four subsequent racketeering trials.
