Tony nominee boards Richard LaGravenese-directed musical.
Singer/actor Jeremy Jordan (‘Smash’) has landed the male lead opposite ‘Pitch Perfect’ star Anna Kendrick in ‘The Last Five Years,’ a big screen adaptation of Jason Robert Brown’s critically-acclaimed stage musical that has Richard LaGravenese (‘Beautiful Creatures’) attached to direct.
Told through emotionally powerful and comic songs from their individual perspectives, ‘The Last 5 Years’ is a deconstruction of the love affair and marriage of Cathy Hiatt, a struggling actress, and Jamie Wellerstein, a rising novelist, The story chronicles the five-year life of a marriage, from meeting to break-up…or from break-up to meeting, depending on how you look at it.
Filming is underway in New York with Lauren Versel, Kurt Deutsch, LaGravenese, and Janet Brenner producing.
