Cooper steps up to replace Law.
It appears that troubled indie western ‘Jane Got A Gun’ is back on track with multiple outlets reporting that ‘Silver Linings Playbook’ star Bradley Cooper has closed a deal to replace Jude Law, who bowed out as the villain shortly after helmer Lynne Ramsay (‘We Need to Talk About Kevin’) abruptly exited the project.
Cooper joins Natalie Portman (‘Thor: The Dark World,’ ‘Black Swan’), Joel Edgerton (‘The Great Gatsby,’ ‘Zero Dark Thirty’) and Rodrigo Santoro (‘The Last Stand’) for a revenge tale that follows Jane Hammond (Portman), a woman whose outlaw husband, Bill, returns home riddled with bullets. Convinced Bill’s gang will return to finish him off and destroy her farm, the woman turns to Dan Frost (Edgerton), an ex-lover she hasn’t seen in a decade, to help her defend the farm.
‘Warrior’ helmer Gavin O’Connor is in the director’s chair, with Scott Steindorff, Aleen Keshishian, Terry Dougas and Portman producing. ‘Jane Got A Gun’ is in currently production in New Mexico.
