Kebbell to play the Marvel villain…
20th Century Fox, according to the folks over at Variety, has offered British actor Toby Kebbell (‘Warcraft,’ ‘Dawn of the Planet of the Apes,’ ‘The Counsellor,’ ‘Dead Man’s Shoes’) the role of Doctor Doom in the upcoming reboot of ‘The Fantastic Four.’
Should the British actor accept the offer, he would be joining a cast that includes Miles Teller (‘Whiplash,’ ‘The Spectacular Now’) as Reed Richards, Kate Mara (‘House of Cards,’ ‘TRON: Uprising’) as Sue Storm, Michael B. Jordan (‘Fruitvale Station,’ ‘Chronicle’) as Johnny Storm, and Jamie Bell (‘Nymphomaniac,’ ‘Filth’) as Ben Grimm.
Kebbell was reportedly up against the likes of Domhnall Gleeson, Sam Riley, Eddie Redmayne, and Jack Huston for the role of Marvel’s legendary antagonist.
‘Chronicle’ helmer Josh Trank is attached to direct with Simon Kinberg (‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’) providing the most recent draft of the script. Fox is hoping to have the film in cinemas June 2015, with a follow-up pencilled in for summer 2017.
