Eleanor Tomlinson wins the lead actress role in Jack the Giant Killer
Bryan Singer’s fantasy-adventure film ‘Jack the Giant Killer’ has found it’s female lead. 19 year-old British actress Eleanor Tomlinson is set to play Isabella, a feisty hotheaded princess who runs away from her kingdom but spoils the effect by getting kidnapped by giants, threatening a long-standing peace between men and giants. Before being taken, she meets a farmer’s son named Jack, played by Nicholas Hoult who later leads a mission into the land of the giants to save her.
Acting since she was 12, Tomlinson previously starred in ‘The Illusionist,’ ‘Angus Thongs and Perfect Snogging’ and, most recently, Tim Burton’s ‘Alice in Wonderland.’
The villainous roles will be taken by Stanley Tucci, as a treacherous adviser to the king (his highness, who appears to be central to the plot remains uncast at present), and Bill Nighy and John Kassar, who’ll together play the two-headed leader of the giants. Ewan McGregor recently signed on as the leader of the king’s guard. Shooting on the movie kicks off shortly in London.
