Actor developing a new take on the classic tale.
Johnny Depp and producing partner Christi Dembrowski are teaming up with Walt Disney Pictures for a new untitled adaptation of ‘Don Quixote.’
Steve Pink (‘High Fidelity’) and Jeff Morris (‘You Did What?’) are attached to pen the screenplay for the project, which has been described as a modern re-imagining of the character, which first appeared in Miguel de Cervantess’ classic novel ‘The Ingenious Gentleman Don Quixote of La Mancha.’
Depp and Dembrowski will produce via their Infinitum Nihil banner. It is not yet known if the ‘Pirates’ star, who was attached to Terry Gilliam’s long-delayed take on ‘Don Quixote,’ will take a starring role in this new adaptation.
