Buzz Lightyear goes to Space

Buzz Lightyear is the longest-serving astronaut in space

A Buzz Lightyear doll has returned to earth after the recent Space Shuttle Discovery voyage.

The 12-inch Toy Story figure spent 15 months aboard the International space station, while it will touch down on Earth with astronauts on Thursday, reports ABC News.

The toy, which was utilised as part of a NASA educational programme, will partake in a ticker tape parade at Walt Disney World early next month.

Tim Allen will once again voice the space aged hero in the next Toy Story film, alongside Tom Hank’s cowboy character Woody. The film is expected in Irish cinemas summer 2010.
