Bryan Singer confirms he will direct X-Men: First Class
After months of speculation, Bryan Singer has confirmed he will return to the X-Men franchise!
The director – who helmed the first two X-Men movies – confirmed at the Avatar premiere last night that he will indeed return to helm the new X-Men pic – X-Men: First Class.
Interviewed by MySpace at the premiere, Singer was asked about his upcoming projects. After mentioning his next film, Jack the Giant Killer, Singer then let loose the big news, saying, “I just yesterday signed a deal to do an X-Men: First Class origins picture, which is kind of cool. I’m very excited.”
It is not clear yet what characters will be included in the project or how closely X-Men: First Class will adhere to the continuity of the previous X-Men films, in which Cyclops, Jean Grey, Storm and Beast were among Charles Xavier’s earliest students.
