Self-help title heads towards the big screen.
Award winning commercials director Bryan Buckley has been tapped to take the director’s chair for ‘Men Are from Mars, Women Are from Venus,’ an adaptation of John Gray’s 1992 novel that will star Reese Witherspoon (‘This Means War’).
The best-selling non-religious non-fiction hardcover of all time, the self-help title highlights the vast differences between men and women, and attempts to bridge the differences. Adapting the book for the big screen are screenwriters Deborah Kaplan and Harry Elfont.
Buckley will make his feature directorial debut with the film. The helmer earned the nickname “King of the Superbowl” after directing over 40 spots for the annual sporting event.
The plan is for principal photography to kick off in January with Gail Berman, Lloyd Braun, Andrew Mittman and Meredith Milton.
