Levinson takes over directing duties on the mob drama.
Variety reports that Barry Levinson (‘Wag the Dog,’ ‘Rain Man,’ ‘Good Morning Vietnam’) is in negotiations to take the director’s chair for the mob drama ‘Gotti: Three Generations,’ replacing Nick Cassavetes who was previously attached to direct. Cassavetes was forced to exit the project due to a scheduling conflict with his indie drama ‘Yellow.
’‘Gotti: Three Generations’ will focus on the relationship between John Gotti Sr. and his son, John Gotti Jr., who chooses to turn his back on the mob code he grew up around. The cast includes John Travolta as John Gotti Sr., Joe Pesci as Gotti deputy Angelo Ruggiero and Lindsay Lohan will play John Gotti Jr.’s wife Kim Gotti. Travolta’s 11-year-old daughter Ella Bleu Travolta will also appear.
The movie starts production in the fall and will shoot on location in New York.
