WOLFMAN Reboot Lands Director

‘The Wolfman’ reboot headed straight to DVD.

Last month it was revealed that Universal Pictures had scrapped its plans to develop a direct-to-DVD sequel for 2010’s Joe Johnston-directed ‘The Wolfman,’ opting to move forward with a reboot of the character with a script by Michael Tabb.

Now, Moviehole has learned that ‘Joy Ride 2: Dead Ahead’ and ‘‘Bats’ director Louis Morneau has been hired by the studio to helm the reboot. Tentatively titled ‘Werewolf,’ the movie is aiming to be closer to George Waggner 1941 movie starring Lon Chaney, Jr. rather than the 2010 movie.

According to Bloody Disgusting, the studio is still planning to release the movie for the home market with a direct-to-DVD release. Along with the previously mentioned direct-to-DVD sequels, Moreau has directed ‘The Hitcher II : I’ve Been Waiting,’ and ‘Retroactive’ with James Belushi.
