Watchmen Ending Remains Same

It’s true – Night Owl confirmed it!

Rumours have been circulating that the ending of Zach Snyder’s anticipated graphic novel adaptation The Watchmen has been changed to a happier ending, but Patrick Wilson has put the record straight.

Wilson, who stars as The Nite Owl in the film, and he laughed off the suggestion saying,

“I have to say, if you know how much Zack believes in it, you wouldn’t believe he would go that far from the graphic novel. I don’t know how those rumours start, but that’d be a stretch!”

Wilson also added that Snyder squeezed in as much material as he could into the film, most of it not from the original script.

“Zack tried to put everything he could in,” Wilson said. “He left it to the studio to cut it and tell him what he can’t fit in. For the script we started with, every scene has something different than what’s on the page. That’s the fun of it, building it as you go.”

Watchmen is set to open in theatres on March 6, 2009; the first trailer for the pic is expected online this Friday.
