Vincent Cassel to Return for DOBERMANN Sequel

Actor set to return as the charismatic criminal Dobermann.

Screen Daily reports that Vincent Cassel is in negotiations to reprise his role as Yann ‘Dobermann’ Le Pentrec for a sequel to Jan Kounen’s 1997 cult French crime drama ‘Dobermann.’

Based on Joel Houssin’s popular 1980s series of hip French crime novels, the movies centeres on Dobermann, the leader of a dangerous gang of bank robbers. After a complex and brutal bank robbery, they gang is hunted by the Paris police, led by the sadistic cop Christini, who only has one goal: to catch Dobermann at any cost.

Tchéky Karyo is also set to return as Dobermann’s adversary, Inspector Crisitini. Original scribe, Joël Houssin will write the sequel.

“I spent several long nights with Vincent Cassel sharing our desire to give birth to the sequel of Dobermann , a cult classic that everyone is always asking us about,” said Houssin.

Producer Rionda Del Castro said, “Audiences all over the world have been waiting over 12 years for Dobermann 2 and this will be a spectacular action-packed European production, shot in French and English with not only French actors but also an international cast.”
