TwoFace Talks Superheroes

Aaron Eckhart eyeing the ‘Green Lantern’?

Aaron Eckhart has revealed he would be interesting in starring in various other superhero pics.

Speaking to reporters, Eckhart addressed rumours of him playing Captain America in ‘The First Avenger: Captain America’, or possibly taking the lead in ‘Green Lantern’.

Although he joked about being too old to play any superheroes, Eckhart did say that he would be happy to play a superhero if the opportunity presented itself:

“I would, because they’re fun to do,” says Eckhart. “I had fun doing this movie. I like action in general. I like to run around and be on cool motorcycles. I always get a tinge of jealousy when I see it and I’m not in it. I don’t know what’s left. It would have to be a good script and a good director.

“These movies work are as good as these directors and I think [The Dark Knight director] Chris [Nolan] is a special guy, a special director. I think when all is said and done, he’ll be one of the greats. To work on so many levels on action, comic and dramatically and thematically and I don’t know if anyone could have done what he did.”

Rumors have long swirled that Eckhart would be a perfect choice to star in ‘TheFirst Avenger: Captain America’, but Eckhart has another hero in mind:

“I’ve forgotten his characteristics and what he does, but I remember liking the Green Lantern a lot,” adds Eckhart.”

With a relationship with Warner Brothers already established, and talks of a Green Lantern film underway, perhaps we will soon see Eckhart as Hal Jordan?

The Dark Knight hits Irish theatres July 25th.
