New Look Breakfast Club

A wallet lost and found opens the door — slightly — to Georges and Marguerite’s romantic adventure. After examining the ID of its owner, it is not a simple matter for Georges to turn in to the police the red wallet he has found. Nor can Marguerite retrieve her wallet without being piqued with curiosity about the person who found it. As George and Marguerite navigate the social protocols of giving and acknowledging thanks, turbulence enters their everyday lives.

Back in January there was a lot of talk of an upcoming ‘Breakfast Club’ remake. As ghastly as that sounded, critics flocked to ‘American Teen’, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, and the general audience reaction was reported as ‘very positive’.

Soon after, a poster for ‘American Teen’ was circulating the interweb, which, as you can see below, definitely confirmed the film’s association with ‘Breakfast Club’ featuring a new cast in some very familiar ‘80s poses.

Now the first trailer for ‘American Teen’ has been released and it seems the attachment to ‘Breakfast Club’ may be more to do with  marketing than an actual remake of the film.

And clever marketing it is too for this documentary that follows five real life high school seniors from Warsaw, Indiana during their final year of school. Check out the trailer below. The film has an expected summer ’08 release.
