Galway Film Fleadh 2011 festival program released

Highlights from the 2011 Galway Film Festival

The programme for one of Ireland’s biggest film festivals Galway Film Fleadh has been announced. Darragh Byrne’s tale of friendship, hope and perseverance ‘Parked’ will open the festival. Other Irish screenings include Brendan Gleeson’s upcoming comedy ‘The Guard’ and ‘A Door Ajar’ about the arrival of French poet Antonin Artuad in Cobh, County Cork.
Other highlights include Haruki Murakami’s ‘Norwegian Wood’, Mary McGuckian’s ‘Man On The Train’ and Jason Eisener’s ‘Hobo With a Shotgun’.

‘Hobo with a Shotgun’ has been removed from the Irish release schedules, so this may be your only chance to see the film in cinemas.

Besides the strong film line-up, many documentaries will be screened this year, including the controversial ‘Unlawful Killing’, which focuses on an alleged cover-up of the death of Princess DIana and Dodi Fayed.
