Hardwicke and Rapace to team for Anita Lindblom biopic

Director Catherine Hardwicke (‘Red Riding Hood,’ ‘Twilight’) is to direct Noomi Rapace (‘Prometheus,’ ‘Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows,’ ‘The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo’) in a biopic of Swedish singer Anita Lindblom reports Indiewire.

The movie will focus on Lindblom’s romance with boxer Bosse Högberg. Their love affair often found its way to the tabloids. The script by penned by Peter Birro. Talking about the project, Hardwicke said:

”I immediately fell in love with the script – it throws us back into Swedish celebrity culture of the 1960s, where the name is more important than the person.”

Rapace’s ex-husband Ola Rapace (‘Wallander’) will take the role of Högberg. The actor has been training as a boxer for the role four years. Filming on the untitled biopic is set to kick off in the autumn.
