Bill Murray Will Appear in GHOSTBUSTERS Reboot

Over the years Bill Murray has been very vocal about his disinterest in returning to the ‘Ghostbusters’ franchise, but it appears he has had a change of heart as multiple outlets are reporting that 64-old actor will be making an appearance in Paul Feig’s reboot of the supernatural comedy.

Murray, who played Dr. Peter Venkman in the 1984 classic and its sequel, will take an unknown role in the reboot. He joins his original Ghostbuster co-star Dan Aykroyd, who revealed his involvement with the film via Twitter (a post that was later deleted).

Feig’s reboot stars Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, Leslie Jones Chris Hemsworth, Michael K. Williams and Andy Garcia. The plot synopsis is as follows:

“Erin Gilbert (Wiig) and Abby Yates (McCarthy) are a pair of unheralded authors who write a book positing that ghosts are real. A few years later Gilbert lands a prestigious teaching position at Columbia University, but her book resurfaces and she is laughed out of academia. Gilbert reunites with Yates and others when ghosts invade Manhattan and she and her team have to save the world.”

GHOSTBUSTERS is scheduled to hit Irish cinemas summer 2016.
