Married with a new baby on the way, fisherman Miguel falls in love with Santiago, an artist who has come to the seaside village to observe local life. Their situation seems impossible, then fate deals a tragic blow and Miguel finds himself bound by the strict traditions of his community, as he faces a choice between his family and the truth. Whatever the outcome, his life will never be the same again.
Joel Surnow, co-creator of 24, has signed up to develop a new spy thriller movies.
Surnow will write the film’s screenplay with Michael Loceff, a former co-executive producer on 24.
“This is an original concept that both UA and I feel will have an impact creatively and commercially,” Surnow told Variety.
Casino Royale’s Martin Campbell will direct the contemporary film after he finishes work on Mel Gibson’s Edge of Darkness.
