Joseph Gordon-Levitt Headlining Sci-Fi Thriller SOVEREIGN

Joseph Gordon-Levitt, who will next be seen playing former CIA employee turned whistleblower Edward Snowden in Oliver Snow’s ‘Snowden,’ has signed on to take the lead on sci-fi thriller ‘Sovereign,’ with British filmmaker Marc Munden attached to direct.

Per Deadline, ‘Sovereign’ sees Gordon-Levitt portraying “a man who, in the wake of a fractured marriage, goes to find his wife and the entire crew of a space station who have gone missing. As he explores the ship, he discovers the truth about their disappearance and is forced to confront his own role in losing her.”

Jack Thorne, the playwright behind ‘Harry Potter and the Cursed Child,’ is providing the script, based on a draft by Geoff Tock and Gregory Weidman.

Producers include 21 Laps Entertainment partners Shawn Levy, Dan Levine and Dan Cohen, along with Nick Meyer and Marc Schaberg of Sierra/Affinity. Kelly McCormick and Gordon-Levitt are executive producing.
