Filmmaker eyed for antihero team-up flick…
Variety is hearing that the suits over at Warner Bros. have set their sights on writer/director David Ayer (‘Fury,’ ‘End of Watch,’ ‘Sabotage’) to take the helm of a big screen outing of the DC Comics title ‘Suicide Squad.’
With Justin Marks providing the script, the film focuses on a team of supervillains who are given a second chance by the government for redemption. The catch is that the mission they are sent on will likely end up killing all of them.
The most recent incarnation of the antihero team-up includes Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Deathstroke, Black Manta, and Joker’s Daughter.
Dan Lin (‘Sherlock Holmes,’ ‘Gangster Squad,’ ‘The LEGO Movie’) is attached to produce.
Ayer’s latest, the World War II tank drama ‘Fury’ starring Brad Pitt, hits Irish cinemas October 24th.
