Cast and plot confirmed for second season of the HBO series…
HBO has confirmed rumours that Irish star Colin Farrell and Vince Vaughn have scored leading roles in the second season of Nic Pizzolatto’s acclaimed crime series ‘True Detective.’
The eight-episode hour-long drama follows “three police officers and a career criminal who must navigate a web of conspiracy in the aftermath of a murder.”
Farrell has landed the role of Ray Velcoro, a compromised detective whose allegiances are torn between his masters in a corrupt police department and the mobster who owns him.
Vaughn will play Frank Semyon, a career criminal in danger of losing his empire when his move into legitimate enterprise is upended by the murder of a business partner.
Production is scheduled to begin later in the autumn with Justin Lin (‘Fast and Furious,’ ‘Community’) serving as director for the first two episodes. Additional casting will be announced as it is confirmed.
