Become the Irish Karate Kid win a trip to China

Calling all Karate Kids….

Sony Pictures have launched ‘The Karate Kid Challenge’ to tie in with the Irish release of THE KARATE KID. The competition is open to to teachers and students of Karate.

The competition eliminations will take place on Sunday 4th July in the Red Cow Hotel and the finals are being held in Dundrum Town Centre on Sunday 11th July from 1pm – 3pm. There is NO ENTRY FEE for this event.

The Karate Kid Challenge is a team exhibition contest open to all styles of Karate (Martial Arts). Each Team will consist of one teacher who must be over 21 with a minimum of 6 years training, 1 years teaching and black belt or equivalent in their style, and one student between the ages of 8 to 16 who has trained in karate for a minimum of 2 years and has been a member of the same club as the teacher for a minimum of one year. All routines must be done to one of the three authorized music segments and the performance should be choreographed to the music selected.

The winning Karate Kid will win a trip for 2 people to China to see where the film was made. The winning teacher will win a trip for 2 to the European Premiere of Karate Kid in London which will be attended by Will Smith and his son Jaden, star of the film!
