David Michod’s THE KING to Star Timothée Chalamet, Joel Edgerton & More

Production is underway on ‘Animal Kingdom’ and ‘The Rover’ director David Michod’s next feature ‘The King,’ a project inspired by elements of Shakespeare’s Henry IV and Henry V.

Timothee Chalamet (‘Call Me By Your Name,’ ‘Lady Bird’) plays the titular character, a young, disgraced prince who inherits the crown and must learn what it means to be a king with the help of his one true friend, Falstaff (played by Joel Edgerton).

Robert Pattinson (‘Good Time,’ ‘The Lost City of Z’), Sean Harris (‘Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation,’ ‘Macbeth’), Ben Mendelsohn (‘Rogue One,’ ‘Ready Player One’), Lily-Rose Depp (‘Yoga Hosers,’ ‘The Dancer’), Tom Glynn-Carney (‘Dunkirk,’ ‘Tolkien’) and Thomasin Harcourt McKenzie (‘The Changeover,’ ‘Leave No Trace’) also star.

Pattinson will be playing The Dauphin; Mendelsohn will be playing King Henry IV; Depp will be playing Princess Catherine; Harris will be playing William; Glynn-Carney will be playing Hotspur; McKenzie will be playing Philippa

Brad Pitt’s Plan B will produce along with Porchlight Films’ Liz Watts (‘Animal Kingdom,’ ‘The Rover’), Edgerton and Michôd

Netflix will release ‘The King’ in 2019.
