Barry Keoghan Lands Villain Role In Marvel’s THE ETERNALS

26-year-old Dublin actor Barry Keoghan (‘Dunkirk,’ ‘The Killing of a Sacred Deer,’ ‘Black 47’) is set to play the villainous Druig in Marvel’s ‘The Eternals,’ joining an A-list cast that includes Angelina Jolie as Thena, Richard Madden as Ikaris, Gemma Chan as Sersi, Kit Harington as Dane Whitman aka Black Knight, Brian Tyree Henry as Phastos, and Kumail Nanjiani as Kingo.

Created by Kirby in 1976, ‘The Eternals’ is set millions of years ago when the cosmic beings known as the Celestials genetically experimented on humans, creating the super-powered team as well as more villainous off-shoots known as the Deviants. The two groups went on to battle each other throughout history to see which would eventually become the ultimate race.

In the comics, Druig is the son of the Celestial Valkin and cousin to Ikaris (played by Madden). His abilities include teleportation, mind control, and flight.

Chloé Zhao, who scored critical acclaim her feature directorial debut ‘The Rider,’ is in the director’s chair for the saga of the Eternals, which also includes Salma Hayek as Ajak, Lia McHugh as Sprite, Don Lee as Gilgamesh, and Lauren Ridloff as Makkari.
