Warrior goddess and Persian “god-King” join action thriller.
Variety has learned that ‘Thor’ actress Jamie Alexander has landed the female lead opposite Arnold Schwarzenegger in Kim Jee-Woon’s action thriller ‘Last Stand.’
The actioner, originally penned by Andrew Knauer and subsequently rewritten by Jeffrey Nachmanoff, centers on a weary small-town sheriff (Schwarzenegger) who becomes involved with trying to stop a drug cartel leader who has escaped from prison. Alexander will be playing Sarah Torrance, a cop under Schwarzenegger’s command who enjoys a playful romance with fellow officer Frank Martinez, played by Rodrigo Santoro (‘300’).
Zach Gilford (‘Friday Night Lights’) will also co-star, along with the previously announced Peter Stormare (‘The Big Lebowski,’ ‘Fargo’). Production kicks off October 20th in New Mexico.
