Latest casting additions for the adaptation.
With production set to begin next month on big screen adaptation of ‘The Mortal Instruments: City Of Bones,’ producers have announced some new additions to the cast.
Joining leads Lily Collins (‘Mirror Mirror’) and Jamie Campbell Bower (‘The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn’) are Lena Headey (‘Game of Thrones’), Jared Harris (‘Mad Men’), Robert Sheehan (‘Misfits’), Godfrey Gao (‘All About Women’), Jemima West (‘The Borgias’), Kevin Durand (‘Resident Evil: Retribution’) and Robert Maillet (‘Sherlock Holmes’).
Based on the first book in Cassandra Clare’s young adult fantasy novel series, the story centres on a seemingly ordinary teenager, Clary Fray, who discovers she is the descendant of a line of Shadowhunters, a secret cadre of young half-angel warriors locked in an ancient battle to protect our world from demons. After the disappearance of her mother (Headey), Clary must join forces with a group of Shadowhunters, who introduce her to a dangerous alternate New York called Downworld, filled with demons, warlocks, vampires, werewolves and other deadly creatures.
Harald Zwart (‘The Karate Kid’) is attached to direct from a screenplay by Jessica Postigo Paquette and I. Marlene King (‘Pretty Little Liars’).
