Sci-fi thriller to get sequel treatment…
Cinematographer/TV director Anna Foerster (‘Outlander,’ ‘Criminal Minds’) has reportedly signed on to take the helm of a sequel to Duncan Jones’ 2011 sci-fi action thriller ‘Source Code.’
Released in 2011, the original saw Jake Gyllenhaal playing Colter Stevens, a soldier who wakes up in the body of an unknown man and discovers he’s part of a mission to find the bomber of a Chicago commuter train.
The film, which earned $147 million worldwide on an estimated $30 million budget, co-starred Michelle Monaghan, Vera Farming, and Jeffrey Wright.
‘Source Code’ scribe Ben Ripley back to pen the script, with Mark Gordon Company and Vendome Pictures producing. A small screen take of the sci-fi thriller was announced shortly after the release of the film but fell into development hell.
