Frank Miller’s groundbreaking ‘Sin City’ series is headed to the small screen with the news that Legendary Television has closed a deal with the comic book creator/director to adapt the property for television.
According to Deadline’s Mike Fleming, the deal on the table is for Legendary to guarantee a first season of the show, contingent on setting it up with a network or streaming platform. Miller’s deal also calls for a hard-R animated prequel series.
Based mostly on the first, third and fourth books in Miller’s series of neo-noir crime thrillers, 2005’s ‘Sin City’ explored the dark and miserable town, Basin City, and followed the story of three different people, all caught up in violent corruption.
Robert Rodriguez, who co-directed the stylish and memorable film with Miller, is in talks to reunite and serve as produce. Stephen L’Heureux, a producer on the 2014 follow-up ‘Sin City: A Dame To Kill For,’ is also on board, alongside Silenn Thomas.
