Tragic tale casts its female lead.
British actress Sienna Miller (‘Yellow,’ ‘G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra’) has joined Steve Carell, Mark Ruffalo and Channing Tatum on the cast of the true-life drama ‘Foxcatcher.’
Set to begin shooting in Pittsburgh later this month with Bennett Miller (‘Moneyball’) directing, the film sees Carell playing Jon DuPont, a stamp-collecting, bird-watching multimillionaire and paranoid schizophrenic who created a training facility, Team Foxcatcher, on his 800-acre Pennsylvania estate. In 1996, in an apparent fit of paranoia, du Pont infamously shot and killed Olympic gold medal-winning wrestler and long-time friend Dave Schultz (Ruffalo) at the state-of-the-art facility.
As previously reported, Tatum will playing Schultz’s younger brother, while Deadline reports that Miller will be taking the role of Schultz’s wife Nancy in the tragic tale.
