Trio locked in for suspense thriller.
Variety has learned that Jérémie Renier (‘The Kid With a Bike,’ ‘In Bruges’), Audrey Fleurot (‘Intouchables,’ ‘Midnight in Paris’) and Bouli Lanners (‘Rust and Bone,’ ‘Nothing to Declare’) have been cast in Jean-Baptiste Andrea’s ‘The Brotherhood of Tears.’
Scripted by Gael Maury and Andrea, the concept-driven thriller centres on Gabriel Chevalier, a cop-turned-unemployed-single-father, who’s offered money to transport a suitcase. As his mission leads him to cross paths with weird people in strange places, his cop instincts gradually resurface.
‘The Brotherhood of Tears’ is scheduled to kick off filming next week. Andrea previously directed and co-wrote the Simon Pegg and David Schwimmer crime comedy ‘Big Nothing’ and 2003’s comedic horror ‘Dead End.’
