The Falklands War thriller has its lead.
Screen Daily is reporting that Paul Bettany (‘Blood,’ ‘Margin Call’) and Matthew Goode (‘Stoker,’ ‘A Single Man’) have signed up to star in ‘Destroyer,’ a thriller about the sinking of warship HMS Coventry during The Falklands War.
Written by and to be directed by Tom Shankland (‘The Children,’ ‘WAZ’), the film is based on the memoris of Captain Hart Dyke and follows a young maverick Captain (played by Bettany) and his crew as they make their suicidal last stand in the final hours of the war.
Principal photography is scheduled for spring 2013 in the UK and Malta with Robin Gutch of Warp Films producing alongside Angus Lamont of Crap Apple Films.
