Cast to be announced in the coming weeks…
Multiple outlets are reporting that ‘Drive’ and ‘Bronson’ writer/director Nicolas Winding Refn is set to take the director’s chair for ‘The Neon Demon.’
Details are scarce, but the film, described as a horror tale with a young female-led cast, will shoot early next year in Los Angeles.
Paris-based production banners Gaumont and Wild Bunch are financing. Refn wrote the screenplay with new talent Mary Laws.
“One morning I woke and realized I was both surrounded and dominated by women. Strangely, a sudden urge was planted in me to make a horror film about vicious beauty,” said Refn. “After making ‘Drive’ and falling madly in love with the electricity of Los Angeles, I knew I had to return to tell the story of ‘The Neon Demon.’”
