Director set for narrative feature based on famed Hollywood private club.
‘This Means War’ and ‘Terminator Salvation’ helmer McG has reportedly been hired by 20th Century Fox to take the director’s chair for a feature about ‘The Magic Castle,’ the famed Los Angeles nightclub for magicians and magic enthusiasts.
Home to the Academy of Magical Arts, ‘The Magic Castle’ was turned into a private magic club in 1963. The venue has played host to performances from “celebrity magic hobbyists” such as Steve Martin, Johnny Carson, and Neil Patrick Harris, who is the current president of the Academy of Magical Arts.
Providing the script for McG’s film are Andrew Barrer and Gabe Ferrari. Ted Field and Mike Weber of Radar Pictures will produce.
