Damon lines up another potential directing vehicle.
Matt Damon continues to hunt for a project to make his directorial debut with. Back in May it was revealed that the actor was eying Matthew Aldrich’s spec script ‘Father Daughter Time,’ and according to THR, Damon has added another potential directing vehicle to the list.
The trade is reporting that Damon has setup an untitled drama that he wrote with actor John Krasinski. ‘The Office’ actor came up with the idea for the script and developed the story with author and ‘Away We Go’ screenwriter Dave Eggers. While details are scarce, the story is believed to center on a town being poisoned, and is said to be in the vein of Steven Soderbergh’s ‘Erin Brockovich.’
At the moment it is unclear which project Damon will choose as his first step into directing but according to THR’s insiders, he may choose the untitled drama with production to begin in spring 2012.
Damon is currently shooting Neill Blomkamp’s ‘Elysium’ and will next be seen in ‘Contagion,’ Steven Soderbergh’s virus thriller which opens in cinemas this week.
