Man Of Steel is Ireland’s highest opening movie of the year

Superman is soaring high at the box office…

The long awaited MAN OF STEEL hit the ground running with an impressive opening total of €1.29m in Ireland, marking the biggest opening weekend of the year beating other high earners like IRON MAN 3, FAST & FURIOUS 6.

It was a similar story across the globe, with the iconic hero boasting a $128.6 million in America, by comparison Clark Kent’s earlier cinema outing in 2006’s SUPERMAN RETURNS grossed $84.6 million through its first five days, that works out at $102.5 million with inflation. Making MAN OF STEEL the most popular Superman at cinemas yet.

Speaking of Ireland’s massive appetite for Superman Josh Berger, President and Managing Director, Warner Bros. UK and Ireland said “We’re thrilled at the tremendous response we’ve seen from audiences to Zack Snyder’s exciting new vision of the iconic Super Hero,” said Berger. “Man of Steel has proven to be the must-see film of the summer.”

MAN OF STEEL is now showing at Irish cinemas nationwide.
